Opportunity to Build or Expand Your Peer Support Program
Shepherd Center is applying for a Dissemination grant for the peer support program that was described in the 2016 ASCIP Audrey Nelson Lectureship. The program that demonstrated less rehospitalization and greater growth of self-efficacy in SCI patients receiving intensive peer mentorship has been assembled into a virtual training package that includes implementation assistance. If funded, Shepherd Center mentors will provide support and instruction for you to implement the program with your mentor(s) and for program evaluation. Rehabilitation centers interested in potential partnerships can contact Julie Gassaway at Julie_gassaway@shepherd.org.
